I finally came around to posting this stunning work of art from famed Zandra Rhodes. When I went to get the measurements I saw that the hanger had damaged the piece at the shoulders. I usually do not post items that are not in excellent condition, but this piece is just too important not to. The piece is layered in black silk chiffon so the tear is on the top layer only. The price does reflect the condition. A real gem for collectors, an early Zandra Rhodes design "Indian Feathers" dates to 1970. The feather print is hand painted all over the black silk chiffon in beautiful colors of turquoise, pink and purple. I adore the wide scalloped sheer sleeves and three-dimensional cut out feather appliques which look incredible with movement. I had one of the leaf cutouts reattached when I originally acquired it. The ensemble is at the MET, and has been featured in many other expositions.
