Vintage Original 1973 Zandra Rhodes Wiggle and Shell Maxi Dress & Signed Scarf!
Zandra Rhodes signature is incorporated in the sea shell print several times. It has an elastic high waist with halter straps to lift the dress. The shoulders are sheer with lining at the bust and the underskirt in a red polyester fabric. It belonged to a lady who purchased it in New York. Her daughter acquired it. She met Zandra in New York and told the story of her mothers dress. Zandra wanted to meet w her and gift her a signed silk belt, turquoise colored as a contrasting accessory to the dress. Zandra signed her name on the belt for the lady. The polyester chiffon is so airy and comfortable, I didn’t want to take it off! Beautiful sleeves that has ties at the cuffs.
The silk chiffon sash belt has a spot that I rather not try to lift due to its delicate nature. It’s not noticeable when worn. This sash does make this ensemble a one of a kind. Signed in gold paint.
Good vintage condition. Some snags throughout the chiffon and some stains along the hem that I couldn’t lift. Consistent with age.
