Get excited because this is a rare gem, a perfect example of 1960's Italian Alta Moda! Tiazini was founded in 1963 by Evans Richards, an American who moved to Rome to pursue fashion. Richards then hired a young Karl Lagerfeld. Tiziani catered to a clientele of prominent women, including Elizabeth Taylor, Doris Duke, Gina Lollobrigida, and Principessa Borghese.
Black linen dress with these cutout panels with sheer silk organza and silk floral embroidered details. The impeccable hand embroidery is adorned with glass beads. Stunning colors. The dress is hand made and every detail is just perfection. There is a rayon ribbon belt inside with a metal zipper on the side. There is a hidden zipper at the bust with 3 hooks and eyes. Puffy sleeves with shoulder pads. There is a kick inverted pleat at the left side to help you move with ease. The dress is lined in silk organza. And now I feel like I am selling it to myself! During Covid I became obsessed with Elizabeth Taylor's closet and started collecting Josefa, Lucie Ann, Bill Tice, Michale Vollbracht pieces, but only found one Tiazini. This dress used to fit like a glove and I kept it with a whole outfit in mind! Unfortunately the day did not come and it no longer fits.
It is in the most amazing condition!
