I remember when Tom Ford was the creative behind Gucci and YSL at the same time. My sister and I worked at the Neiman Marcus flagship store in Dallas. It was such a frenzy! This Texas born designer was turning these houses on their heads. I don't know HOW he did it. Sales people would fight over the up coming pieces for their clients. Buyers and their assistants would run down to the ground floor to see the latest delivery. One of the most coveted bags was Gucci's Large Horsebit Hobo Bag and YSL Mombasa Horn Bag. These designs directly competed with each other and were both designed by Tom Ford. I mean these bags were sexy! They hugged the body while you were toting your God knows what. The Horsebit Hobo was adorned with the iconic house symbol in an exaggerated opulent piece of hardware. This was the it bag for so many celebrities at the time.
My sister has decided to let this iconic bag go. It is in excellent condition, it is really hard to believe that it is over 20 years old! It is in almost new condition, minor scratches to the hardware, and leather. Clean inside and out. In the Tobbacco brown color with shiny gold hardware. The top seams are braided in leather giving it some weight for it to close on itself. The luxurious leather will outlast all of us, it has been well maintained and stored.
