This is a rare find, 1960s Jon Mandl silk brocade gown that can actually double as a swanky duster! Jon Mandl worked with famed Richard Tam on brocade pieces. This stunning piece is the only one I have come across with just his name on the label, it has an Asian print throughout with an iridescent pink and silver warrior scene and flowers with a stunning border print. The dress has balloon sleeves with wide cuffs. Darted for a structured fit, frog knots at the front that does fully open, a hook and eye at the waist. Fully lined in rayon. Pockets. The piece is in good vintage condition, it has several discoloration spots and signs of wear at the hemline. It was definitely loved by its original owner and for me that tells a story. It still presents beautifully since the print and colors are the real showstopper here. I have only seen one other version of this dress which had the same fabric but different silhouette and it sold on a different sight long ago. The price does reflect the wear on this piece.
