Vintage Mary McFadden burgundy pleated bolero jacket. This bolero is so good! The "marii" pleating is at a diagonal from the front to the back meeting at the middle of the back. The sleeves are also at a diagonal. Made for Saks Fifth Avenue. Fully lined and hand finished. This jacket can fit most sizes, I have it in the photos on an XS mannequin, and the last two on a Medium. Due to its structured construction, it can fold over at front on smaller sizes
Mary McFadden was known and has the patent to this type of pleating. After years of testing, she found this special silk like polyester satin that worked best.
Great Vintage Condition, some piling consistent with age.
