I recently found this piece at an extraordinary estate sale in Dallas. The closet was filled with couture, this was the only piece I could afford! I love it so much, I have bought and sold dozens of McFadden designs and this one is so unique. The label has been removed, but I do believe that it opens at the back. You can wear it with the opening at the front too, like a jacket. This could be the reason why the label was removed. The closures are frog knots with hidden snaps. The color is a rich jewel tone teal green. The last frog knot is doubled and at the waist. The cuff and hem have McFadden's signature wired hand finish that adds a sculptural effect. Due to the cost and demand this type of finish was discontinued in the late 80s. I love finding these early pieces, they are becoming really rare. Best fit size Small. This tunic is in excellent vintage condition.
