I am a huge admirer of Michale Vollbracht, actually one of the first online sales I ever had was one of his fabulous ensembles. The minute I discovered that set I was hooked. The artistic whimsy print with exquisite design and perfect construction. By now I have collected and sold quite a few. Here I am presenting this stunning beaded caftan dress. Elizabeth Taylor had the exact same one! It sold for over $8000. Since that auction, I have noticed an increased popularity for these works of art.
This piece has two large glass beaded and printed flowers with butterflies coming down the shoulders to the bust. At the side there are these Avantgarde faces looking into bright green hand mirrors.These images are placed upside down and mirror each other! The hand beading continues to the back as if you were a butterfly. The caftan falls lower at the back just as seen on the model. Absolutely fabulous!
Excellent Vintage Condition. Some faint spots in a couple of places. Not noticeable when worn. Missing a few beads, but just a few at the shoulder. Not noticeable because it is dyed in the same color.
