I have two of these dresses in different fabrications and colors. I purchased both from a popular local high end resale shop here in Dallas. I was informed that they came from the same lady that purchased them at the flagship Neiman Marcus in the 70's. Let's get into this one, it is constructed from a medium weight satin. The full ballgown skirt is in the prettiest pearl shade with a blue column around the hem. That same blue satin is also used in the wide 3 button cuffs, around the bust and waist. The orange bust is also blocked with the same color bust attached to the sleeves in a geometric panel. The dramatic balloon sleeves give it a touch of whimsy that is expected from Geaoffrey Beene. It is such a special classic piece with so much luxurious fabric! It has pockets, and a double zipper to hold the weight of the skirt up. A true vintage couture gem.
