I recently acquired this regal Adolfo ensemble at an upscale estate sale in Highland Park Dallas. I am just floored, it is a real princess moment! It is the same style as the one in the 1979 runway show. The crinkled pearlescent gold with a greenish tint silk skirt has a side waist hook closure that can be altered since there is plenty of the fabric inside the skirt,and the best thing is that it has pockets. This skirt would also look great with a crisp white shirt. The top is exquisite with hand placed glass beads and blue crystal rhinestones over the metallic textured silk. Back zipper closure, puffy sleeves. The sash is a fun touch. Both pieces are fully lined in the softest blue silk. I have gone and reinforced weak spots in the lining a long one seam and a shoulder pad. Even though the dress has been dried cleaned, I also went back with a wet brush at the armpits to get a real clean finish. None of these issues are visible on the outside. As I mentioned before there is enough gold silk in the inside to adjust the waist and length of the skirt.
